One of the great things I have found with photography is going to events that I normally would never go to. One example is a wedding fashion show that occurs each year. Since I am already married there is no reason for me to attend. But it is these types of events that will allow the aspiring photographer to get some practice shooting people you would not normally have the chance to shoot. And it is for this reason that my wife, yes my wife, makes me grab to camera gear and point me in the right direction.....to get some of that practice.
Oh I am not complaining for once I get to the show I somewhat enjoy myself watching the young ladies dreaming of what their wedding day to be like. Plus the lighting is usually terrible at these events and it is a great opportunity to practice your flash photography, plus a little composition. I decided this year not to be afraid of using a high ISO and let the camera and the lens do its job. Here are a few of the shots from that outing:
